Located just minutes from Lone Star Resort is Hempstead - home of Liendo Plantation. Every year Liendo Plantation host a Civil War Weekend the weekend before Thanksgiving,
During the War Between the States, Liendo hosted Cavalry and Infantry Training Camps, an Internment Camp, and a Hospital. For a brief time after the War, it served as headquarters for General George Armstrong Custer.

Ticket Prices $10/Person - $5/Seniors
After the battle has ended each day, the public is invited to walk the battlefield to witness what has happened and listen to the soldiers and their loved ones who have left the relative safety of their camp to find their sons and husbands on the field. Military medical demonstrations will be held on and off the field of battle.
Demonstrations will be ongoing on the lawn each day showcasing skills such as blacksmithing, spinning, quilting, medical, flint knapping, dances, music, and more!
