Lone Star Resort is just 3 hours from San Antonio, home of the Alamo.  A Texas icon, the Alamo served as the place where over 170 men chose to fight to the death for the freedom of Texas.  This shrine is a must see for anyone visiting the San Antonio area.

San Antonio is steeped with other historical sites, such as the five Spanish missions located in and around the downtown area.

The Riverwalk is the place to be for nightlife, dining, and shopping.   El Mercado, the largest Mexican marketplace outside of Mexico, is part of San Antonio's Market Square shopping district.

The world famous San Antonio Botanical Gardens are located just north of downtown.  The Gardens provide a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere that is educational, romantic, and inspiring.

If you crave more excitement, Fiesta Texas and Sea World are just outside of town in the Texas Hill Country.  Fiesta Texas is not just for the kids!  There is plenty of live entertainment, concerts, a waterpark, and, of course, world-class rollercoasters.  Sea World is much more than watching Shamu.  There is fine dining, evening concerts, adventure camps, and more!

Just north of San Antonio, up Highway 281, is Johnson City.  Named for President Lyndon B. Johnson’s grandfather, Johnson city  is the site of the former President’s childhood home.  The LBJ Ranch is just a few miles to the west.  At the ranch, now known as the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, you will learn the story of our 36th President beginning with his ancestors up through the end of his life.  His final resting place is on his beloved ranch. This entire "circle of life" gives the visitor a unique perspective into one of America's most noteworthy citizens by providing the most complete picture of an American president.

Visit one of Ladybird’s favorite local attractions, The Exotic Resort Zoo - just two miles north of Johnson City.  The Exotic Resort Zoo is owned by members of Lone Star Resort.  Mention our name and you will receive the “royal” treatment.  The Zoo is a place where you can enjoy the company of wild animals.  Situated on 137 wooded acres with several lakes and creeks, there are over 500 animals and over 80 species. The Zoo provides guided tours, luxury safari-style cabin rentals, and a children’s petting zoo.  Spend the day, a weekend, or a week enjoying the safari-like setting and personally getting to know the animals!
